Highly uniform particles in the range 0.5-5 nm have been prepared at high density using so-called ABC ALD. Layers of oxide support added by ALD after metal particle deposition (overcoats) can stabilize supported metal particles against sintering, even in high temperature environments, while preserving their catalytic function.
