The design of highly active and recyclable bifunctional heterogeneous catalysts for aerobic oxidation of alcohols has economic and environmental advantages.  The novel palladium(II) complexes synthesized here utilize dioxygen or air as the oxidant and heterogenize the required basic function which promotes a green process for the selective oxidation of alcohols.
