Steam reforming of ethanol over low-loading Pt, Ru and Rh catalysts has been studied at 773, 823 and 873 K.  The catalysts show differences in selectivity and activity with Pt/alumina givingthe highest yield of hydrogen.  Graphitic carbon was detected on all catalysts but conversion was stable after an initial period.
