A series of Pt/Mo2C catalysts were prepared, evaluated for water-gas shift activity, and characterized using a combination of techniques including XAS, HAADF-STEM, and DFT calculations.  Properties of these materials were compared to those for oxide supported Pt catalysts including Pt/TiO2, Pt/CeO2, and Pt/Al2O3
