Cu-ZnO/La2Zr2O7 systems can be effective catalysts for the conversion of syngas to oxygenates by adding suitable transition-metal promoters. The results of in-situ XRD and XANES experiments carried out under H2-TPR conditions demonstrate the stability of the pyrochlore phase as well as the effect of transition-metal promoters on the reducibility of copper.
