Fibrous ceria has been synthesized by a chemical co-precipitation/ripening method. It was found that these catalysts are highly efficient in soot combustion activity under tight and loose contact conditions. In comparison, the peak temperature of the soot combustion under tight and loose contact conditions was shifted from 397°C to 445°C.
