Imogolite-like nanotubes have been synthesised in which SiCH3 groups have been introduced in place of the SiOH groups that occur at the inner surface of the imogolite structure. Their outer surface has been functionalized with 3-aminopropylsilane and the materials obtained were tested for either methane or CO2 adsorption.
