Hydrogen production from APRof glycerol over 3%Pt/C and 3%Pt-Re/C  has been studied.Addition of Re increases conversion of glycerol, but hydrogen selectivityv decreases in favor of light hydrocarbons and water-soluble oxygenates. This loss of H2 selectivity can be traced to an increase in catalyst acidity and resulting acid-catalyzed dehydration reactions.
