OC30 NO Oxidation Inhibition by Hydrocarbons over a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst – Reaction Between Surface Nitrates and Hydrocarbons

NO2 oxidation of HC over a DOC severely inhibits the overall performance of a diesel exhaust emissions system. In this study the interaction between C3H6 and surface nitrates were investigated and the data show that surface nitrates can oxidize C3H6, providing a mechanistic description of the reaction.
