For the first time, activated carbon (AC) functionalized by ZnO nanoparticles was tested for simultaneous removal of H2S and organochlorinated molecules from biogas at ambient temperature. The use of AC in series with our ZnO/AC material improves the performance of abatement of both H2S and high molecular weight halogenated hydrocarbons.
